Heather Lynne Fleming

May 13, 1975 — Aug 7, 2026

Heather Lynne Fleming completed her journey on this earth and entered into eternal life on August 7, 2026.

Heather was born on May 13, 1975, to Pat and Tony Harwell, parents who she deeply loved and admired. Heather lived a wonderful life. As a young child, she enjoyed tennis, dance, choir and piano, but her greatest joy as a child was to be with her family and friends. She looked up to her big brother, Anthony, and wanted to constantly care for her baby sister, Haley. She loved her time with her childhood friends. She truly was the angel that blessed the lives of those who she met. She always had a smile on her face, and wanted nothing but to bring joy, laughter, and happiness to those around her.

Heather was a graduate of Amarillo High School, and later Texas Tech University where she obtained a degree in Elementary Education, and later a master’s degree in Reading and Literacy. She loved children; she spent many years teaching in Fort Worth, San Antonio, and eventually in Amarillo. She taught primarily in kindergarten and first grade and adored each child like they were her own. She later went on to work at Pantex as a facilitator and educator.

Heather’s greatest joy in life were her two girls, Molly and Katelynn. In fact, you rarely saw Heather without these two girls by her side. The first comment from everyone who met these girls was always, “they are the sweetest girls.” You could expect nothing less as Heather was the perfect example of what it means to be kind, loving, and supportive of all those around her. Molly and Katelynn have been blessed to have their momma’s heart and will continue to share the love their mother has given them.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leland and O’Nita Van Dorfy of Houston, Virgil Rufus and Ora Lee Harwell of Houston, an aunt, Carol VanDorfy of Houston, and an uncle, Dick Caplinger of Dallas.

She is survived by her two girls, Molly Mae Fleming and Katelynn Patricia Fleming, her parents, Anthony Harwell, Sr. and Patricia Harwell of Amarillo, her brother, Anthony Jr. (Stacey) and their two sons, Anthony Lee III “Tripp” (Maria) and Jackson Harwell, a sister, Haley (Erin) Harwell, an uncle, Mike VanDorfy and his children, Michael (Megan) and Amy (Peter) and their children, and an aunt, Jennifer Caplinger and her children, Marty (Jennifer) and Richard.

The visitation will be Sunday, August 16, 2026 from 2:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd. A service celebrating Heather’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026 at First Presbyterian Church, 1100 South Harrison Street.
