Ima

Vane Loftin (Parker), beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2023, in Amarillo, Texas. She was born on January 26, 1932, in Beaver, Oklahoma, to Ruben Anderson Parker and Flora Elizabeth Parker (Patee). She was the sixth of eight siblings, including Dillard, Fred, Lucille, Louise, Jake, Otto (Corky), and Ruben Sr.

During her childhood on the family farm, Ima Vane enjoyed playing music, riding horses, baking and immersing herself in the pages of her Bible. On January 15, 1952, at the age of 19, she married the love of her life, Roy Ray Loftin (21), in Beaver, Oklahoma. Together, they had two children: Vickie Elaine Loftin, born on May 1, 1955 in Borger Texas, and Kale Ray Loftin, born on March 15, 1975 in Canyon Texas. Together, they all lived in Amarillo, Texas

Ima Vane was a dedicated homemaker and also worked alongside her husband, Roy Ray, in their business, Ray Loftin Plumbing. She supported and actively participated in the Special Olympics, particularly in her role as a loving and devoted mother to her son, Kale Ray Loftin, who has Down Syndrome. Ima Vane was an insightful poet, finding solace and inspiration in reading her Bible and writing heartfelt poems.

Her favorite bible verse was, “Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.” Ephesians 4:28.

Her favorite poem that she wrote and often recited was, “Life isn’t easy, nor always grand, but with God in your Life you can handle the strife.”

Ima Vane Loftin’s gentle and loving nature touched the lives of all who knew her. She radiated warmth, grace, and kindness. Behind her docile demeanor lay an incredible strength and resilience, which she displayed throughout her life’s journey.

Ima Vane Loftin is survived by her two children, Vickie Elaine Robinson (Loftin) and her husband Jay Elton Robinson, as well as her son Kale Ray Loftin of Amarillo, Texas. Her memory lives on through her cherished grandchildren: Jason Scott Robinson, his wife Davon Lee Robinson, Shonda Kay McCleskey (Robinson), her husband Wyman McCleskey of Amarillo, Texas. She will also be fondly remembered by her great-grandchildren: Brooke Shea Scifers (Robinson), her husband Drake Philip Scifers, Ethan James Robinson, his wife Dru Hailey Robinson (Nava), Brianna Shea Clower (Robinson), her husband Coy Clower, Kayla Darlene McCleskey, and Ryan McCleskey. Additionally, she is survived by her great-great-grandchildren: Everett Taylor Robinson, Cutter Clower, and Krayton McCleskey.

Ima Vane Loftin will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Roy Ray Loftin, in Memorial Park in Amarillo, Texas.
