Ina Faye Keeton

Ina Faye White Keeton, 91, of Amarillo, passed into the arms of Jesus Friday, July 5, 2024. Ina was born in Quail, Texas on March 26, 1933, to M.T. (Boge) and Virgie White. After graduating salutatorian of the 1950 class of Quail High School, Ina worked at the Wellington, Texas Bell Telephone Switchboard. 

In 1953, Ina met George Keeton on a blind date and married him 3 months later at his parents’ home in Hollis, Oklahoma. The couple set up housekeeping in Amarillo and soon welcomed two children. 

Ina & George spent all but 3 years of their 49 years together In Amarillo where Ina worked for her brother’s company, Tascosa Tortilla Company, and retired from Amarillo Credit Bureau. The Keetons traveled to most of the 50 states in their RV and even won a trip to Europe, making many great memories along the way. 

Ina loved her family very much and felt it was her job to be the worrier for each of them. It was a big job as the family continued to grow. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2002, brother Alvin White, and sister, Patsy White Gresham Riggins, Son-in-Law, Lynn Pearcy, and a granddaughter Jennifer Keeton. 

She is survived by her daughter, Janice Pearcy Smith and husband Rex of Amarillo, and Son, Rick Keeton and wife Shari of Aubrey; brother, Delbert White; her loving grandchildren are Julia Keeton Bales, Jessica Keeton Hickman, Clint Pearcy, Bethany Pearcy House, and Brenda Martin. She also acquired bonus grandchildren, Staci Williams, Shelby Truesdale, Skyler Wilt, Debra Smith & Shelley Rodgers. Her 5 prize great-grands, Allison, Asher, Colton, Brenlee and Riker along with 10 bonus greats. 

Visitation will be at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 5-6:30 p.m. Graveside services will be at Llano East Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., at South Georgia Baptist Church, 5209 S. Georgia. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels or Kinder Hearts Hospice.
