James D. “Red” Wigley entered heaven September 9, 2024. James was born October 3, 1931, in Dawson, Alabama, to Perry and Ida Wigley. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Red will always be remembered as kind, hardworking, generous, exceptional Bluegrass musician, master mechanic, zealous gardener, trusted friend, great neighbor and most importantly a loving, faithful husband and dad.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Charles, Bill, Perry, and Betty; and sons: Jimmy and Wade. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Thunda; son, Robert (Leanna); grandson, Christopher (Hailey); great-grandsons, Christopher Jr., Harry and Hunter; and stepdaughters, Julie (Gary) and Debbie; and grandsons, Jake and Key (Alexus).
Family and friends will gather at a future date to celebrate his life.
We are grateful for the love and compassion extended to us by every member of our Interim hospice family.
