James Douglas Evans

James Douglas Evans, born January 11, 1973 in Amarillo TX to Edward (Sonny) and Ruby Evans, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026.

James preferred being outdoors. He loved fishing, camping, carpentry and woodworking. He loved to grill and enjoyed making smores and stuffed jalapenos with his family. He loved race cars; building them, working on them and racing them.

When James couldn't be outside, he liked tinkering with electronics, working on leather craft projects and watching NASCAR and the Dallas Cowboys.

James felt life needed to be enjoyed and found humor in all situations. Professionally, James was an Auto Mechanic and Appliance Technician.

James was preceded in death by his father, Edward (Sonny) Evans and mother Ruby Evans. James was also preceded in death by his brother, Marcus Evans and his niece Courtney and nephew John.

James is survived by his son, Britton Evans. James is also survived by his sister, Marie Kachiros (Pete) and Sister-in-law, Sylvia Alonzo-Evans. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Nick, Carolyn, Chris, Amber, Rory, Amy and Drew and his great nieces and nephews: Kate, Alex, Nehemiah, Zakariah and Lillie.
