James "Jimmy" Albert Carducci

January 8, 1953 — October 26, 2025

James “Jimmy” Albert Carduccci, 72, of Amarillo, TX passed away October 26, 2025. Jimmy overcame incredible odds for many years before his health was finally restored. We are infinitely grateful for the immeasurable gift of the bonus years and the many cherished memories his fighting spirit gave us.

Jimmy was born January 8, 1953, in Chicago Heights, IL to Clemente and Marilynn Carducci. He grew up in Chicago Heights and moved to Amarillo in 1979. Jimmy loved reminiscing and telling stories of his time in Chicago over a cup of coffee. Jimmy worked for AMS as the fleet supervisor for 35 years and created many wonderful friendships and memories over the years. Jimmy was a hard working man and Jack of all trades. Jimmy loved cars, motorcycles, boats, and anything with a motor. He enjoyed working on cars and helping people however he could. Jimmy never met a dog that he didn’t like and that didn’t love him back. He always had treats for dogs and sweets for kids. Jimmy worked hard to support and raise his two children, Wendy and James, and loved them fiercely. But what he loved most was spending time with and spoiling his grandkids. Out of every title, “G-Pa” was his favorite and most honored. Jimmy was unapologetically himself and giving people a hard time and making people laugh were two of his favorite things to do. If Jimmy wasn’t giving you a hard time, then there was a good chance that he was not enjoying your company.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Wendy McAlister and husband James; son, James “Jay” Carducci and wife Crysta, all of Amarillo, TX; brother Michael Carducci and wife Pat; sister, Karen Davenport and husband Chris, all of Amarillo, TX; and grandchildren Hallie McAlister, Alora Carducci, James “JJ” Carducci, and Saylor McAlister; a host of extended family and friends who loved him, as well as his faithful dog, Sable, that stayed by his side until the very end. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Clemente and Marilynn Carducci, and his grandson, James Alexander (Alex) McAlister.
