James Lynn Reeves

James Lynn Reeves, 60, of Claude, Texas passed away Monday, October 19, 2026.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 26, 2026 at Bethel Baptist Church in Quanah, TX with Sam Doby officiating. Burial will be at Quanah Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

James was born September 27, 1966, in Rotan, Texas to Arthur and Billie Reeves. He graduated from high school in Norman, Oklahoma. He loved to play guitar.

James served in the U.S. Army as a combat vet in Operation Just Cause in Panama.

In 2004, James became a police officer and served in both Quanah and Memphis. He retired from Armstrong County Sheriff’s Department.

He married Lawana Clay on March 12, 2005, in Quanah.

James was preceded in death by his dad, Arthur Reeves.

Survivors include his wife, Lawana Reeves, of Claude, TX; daughter, Rina LaGrone and husband Tommy, of Quanah; son, Jeff Raschke and wife Kelsey, of Electra, TX; mother, Billie Smyrl, of Oklahoma City, OK; two sisters, Kim Reeser and husband Willie, and Debbie Sweden, all of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Stephen Reeves and wife Liz, of Roby, TX and Mike Reeves, of Oklahoma City; and his grandchildren, Dayton LaGrone, Bethany LaGrone, Caleb Raschke, and Callie Raschke.
