Jane Cambridge Clemence

Jane Cambridge Clemence, 60, of Amarillo, Texas passed away peacefully on October 20, 2023, surrounded in love by her family.

Her memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 28, 2023, at First Presbyterian Church, Amarillo. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.

Jane was born on December 18, 1962, in Amarillo Texas, to parents Tom and Norma Cambridge. The youngest of the three Cambridge children, she was always the baby of the family, with sister Nancy, and brother Tommy forever reminding her of that. From her youngest years, Jane was an animal lover, and one time she adopted a neighbor’s cat without the neighbor even knowing it. Every dog she had during her lifetime was a rescue.

She was always happiest near a tropical blue ocean, feet in the sand, sun on her skin and her husband Cary and daughter Libby by her side.

For years, Jane along with her sister Nancy, co-chaired the Susan B Komen Race for the Cure. They were inspired by their mother’s courageous battle with breast cancer to be of service to their community and fight for a good cause. At the end of her life, Jane showed her own brand of fiery courage as she too fought cancer. While it took her earthly life, her spirit most certainly lives on.

Her greatest joy was watching the achievements of her talented daughter Libby, whom she adored and loved.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Norma Cambridge, and brother Jeffrey. She is survived by her devoted husband Cary, of Amarillo, her daughter Libby, of Boulder, CO, her brother Tommy, of Cochecton, NY, her sister Nancy Walker and husband David Walker, of Amarillo, her nephew, Ross Walker, of Houston, TX, nephew Max Clemence II, of Amarillo, niece Katie Hill, of Amarillo, niece Casey Phipps, of Guymon, OK, and numerous cousins on the Clemence and Cambridge sides of her family.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Susan Neese, and the staff at BSA Hospice.

The family suggests memorials be made to Opportunity School, 1100 S. Harrison, Amarillo, Texas 79101 or Grace’s Project, 7617 Canyon Dr. Amarillo, Texas 79110.
