Jean Kelley

Larry “Jean” Kelley, 87, of Lubbock, TX passed away December 3, 2025.

Family will receive friends from 3-4:00 PM, Sunday, December 7, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, December 8, 2025 at Llano Pantheon Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Jean was born August 1, 1938 in Shattuck, OK to Lawrence Beckel and Clara Jackson. She grew up in Durham, OK and had worked at St. Anthony’s Hospital the first year after marriage. She worked in several libraries in the panhandle. Jean served as the village clerk in Eagles Nest, NM and had been a member of Olsen Park Church of Christ. Jean loved to read, take walks, and hike in New Mexico and Colorado.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Kelley.

Jean is survived by her sons, Doug Kelley and wife Ann of Lubbock, TX, and Lawrence Kelley and wife Janice of Bowling Green, KY; siblings, Terry Beckel of Amarillo, TX and Joye Ledbetter of Bushland, TX; grandchildren, Jordan, Dillon, Robin, Jason, Chase, Olivia, William, and Joshua; and 15 great-grandchildren.
