Jimmie Lee Perkins

Jimmie Lee Perkins, 84, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on May 31, 2025.

Visitation will be from 5-6:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.  Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo. The burial will be at Llano Cemetery.

Jimmie Lee Perkins was born on March 15, 1941, to Walter Francis Perkins and Mary Moriah Rathburn Perkins in Amarillo, Texas.

Jimmie attended Amarillo High School. He married Peggy Maureen Morgan Perkins on June 26, 1960. He was a journeyman electrician working at Coca Cola Company, Duke Electric, then at Pantex. Jimmie was a member of IBEW and the Corvette Club of Amarillo. He was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian and Hillside Christian churches.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his son, Jimmie Todd Perkins; his parents, Walter and Mary Perkins; sister, Gladolia “Tootie” Hobart; and brothers, Robert Perkins and William Perkins.

He is survived by his wife Peggy, of the home; daughter, Jill Perkins Watson and husband Scott of Houston, TX; daughter, Alecia Perkins of Amarillo; grandsons, Cody Canute of Amarillo, and Tavin Lusk Gonzalez of Denver; granddaughter, Morgan Sumicek of New York City; and great-grandson, Cole Canute of Amarillo.
