Johnny was born in Hereford on September 19, 1969, to Glenn Martin Nahrgang and Berneice Nahrgang. He graduated from Canyon High School in the class of 1988. On July 20, 2002, Johnny married his loving wife, Laurie Kloos Nahrgang. He worked faithfully for FIMC for 29 years.

Johnny had a lifelong passion for training birddogs and hunting, but nothing brought him more joy than being a proud Pepa to his grandkids. He loved his family and friends deeply. He brought fun and laughter everywhere he went. His deep belly laugh was infectious. Johnny was a practical joker and a loyal friend to many. He was known for taking the scenic route everywhere he went for the less-beaten path was always more rewarding. Johnny will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Nahrgang and Berneice Nahrgang, and other relatives; Ray Kloos, Brian Kloos, and Alyssa Kloos.

Survivors include his wife, Laurie Kloos Nahrgang; children, Tristyn and husband Devin McQueen of Plainview, Ashley and husband Mike Fields of Fulshear; siblings, Glenda Downey of Houston, Brenda and husband Richard Barrett of Hereford; grandchildren, Michael, Cora, Brently, Easton, Straton, Warren; nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Renee, Kari, Keith, Blaire, Stacy, Stephanie, Erin, Logan, and Casen; pets, Bob, Jack, Ozzy, Lizzy, Piper, and HeyBaby.
