Jones Baker Stahl, 22, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on August 4, 2025.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 P.M.- 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Burial will be private. The memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Baker was born on December 5, 2002, in Amarillo, TX to John Patrick Stahl and Amy Elizabeth Jones. Baker and his twin, Fisher, had a hard start to life, being born prematurely. The NICU nurses at BSA nicknamed them Tough and Toughy.
During his childhood, Baker loved going to summer camp. He attended Hidden Falls and Laity Lodge Youth Camp. Baker’s favorite vacations were to the beach where he worked diligently on the perfect tan.
He graduated on May 24, 2022, from Tascosa High School where he had been on the yearbook staff - working with his mother, the yearbook teacher, and was involved in FFA.
He worked with his grandfather, Terry Jones, for the past two years at Cash for Gold and Jewelry on Historic Route 66. He was becoming the coin guy - assisting his grandfather buying, selling, and sorting coins. Many customers came by regularly just to visit with Baker. He was an old soul in a young body.
Baker loved old country music from Willie Nelson to Waylon Jennings. He had a large record collection. He attended Bob Wills Music camp in Turkey, Texas where he practiced and performed on the guitar. Baker loved going to Turkey, Texas for the weekend for all the live music festivals. He would two-step the night away with every lady in the place. Bob Wills’ Day was a highlight of each year. Baker also loved old trucks. His favorites were old, beat-up Chevys and Fords. He dreamed of owning a truck, listening to country music, and driving through the Texas countryside.
Baker was baptized at and attended Westminster Presbyterian Church alongside his grandmother, Betty Jones.
He loved his family. His parents, grandparents, and cousins were his best friends. He loved trips to Tennessee to see everyone. He kept up with everyone… always acknowledging important events in his people’s lives.
Baker was the light in every room. He was a snappy dresser with a permanent smile. His humor and kindness were his trademark.
His grandmother, Suzanne Francis Stahl preceded him in death.
Survivors include his parents, John Patrick Stahl and Amy Tatro; stepparents, Lacy Stahl and Shawn Tatro; his twin brother, Patrick Fisher Stahl, and brothers, Sullivan and Murphy Stahl; his grandparents, Betty Jayroe Jones, Terry Wayne Jones, and Ricky Dean Stahl; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
