Juanita Mae Phares

Juanita Mae Phares, 88, of Borger, TX went to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Fellowship Baptist Church, 305 Deahl Street, Borger, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Juanita was born October 6, 1937 to A. C. Gariepy (father) and Effie Rose Layman (mother) in Borger, TX. Juanita married the love of her life Billy Phares on Sunday, November 4, 1956. They met in high school and started their whirlwind romance and worked together at the movie theater. Their love produced four children: Billy Wayne, Bobby Gene, Deborah Diana and Tim Phares. Juanita grew up on Brain Street in Borger and graduated from Borger High school.

She served the Lord any way she could. A prayer warrior praying for all the people she knew. She worked as a Dietician for a retirement home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Phares, her two oldest sons; Billy and Bobby; great-great grandson: JR Parker; and two great granddaughters: Alyssa and McKenzie Norman; brothers and sisters.

Survivors include daughter, Deborah Norman and husband Alan of Borger; son Tim Phares and wife Tammy of Austin, Texas; her grandchildren, Jarrod Norman with wife Erin and children, Clifton Phares with wife Lynee and children, Desiree Redwine with husband Jason and children, Brandon Horton with wife Jamie and children, Madison Gressett and wife Katelyn, Danielle Jones and children and Gary Phares and wife Sherry; and a host of extended family and friends.
