Judith Yvonne Gauna, 84, of Amarillo, TX passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

Memorial service will be at 4:00 PM, Friday, July 10, 2026 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Judith was born January 8, 1942 in Lyons, TX to Johnny and Neoma Fahnert. She graduated from Santa Rosa, NM High School in 1960. Judith married Pat Gauna on February 4, 1961. She has a son and daughter who were the loves of her life. Judith moved to Amarillo, TX in 1967 and went to work for Amarillo ISD in the cafeteria from 1971-2001 when she retired. Her love for the children brought so much joy throughout the years.

In her spare time, she loved camping, fishing, working in her yard, and most of all spending time with her family and precious grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Johnny Fahnert and Neoma Scheffer; brothers, Kenneth Fahnert and Roger Fahnert and his wife Janet; sisters, Ramona Davis and Norma June Fahnert; and one granddaughter, Stephanie Daulton.

Judith is survived by her son, Patrick Gauna; daughter, Lisa Daulton both of Amarillo, TX; brother, Louis Wayne Scheffer and wife Lupe of El Paso, TX; sister-in-law, Marilyn Fahnert of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Craig Daulton and wife Anna, Jonathan Gauna, and Michael Gauna all of Amarillo, TX; great-grandsons, Elliot and Myles Daulton of Amarillo, TX; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
