Judith “Judy” Ann Harle Ward, 76, of Vega, Texas, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 12, 2024.
Visitation will be from 5:30 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Boxwell Brothers in Vega 107 S. Main St.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vega with Jim Watkins officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers at Vega.
Judy was born in Amarillo, Texas, on October 16, 1947, to Helen Blanche Spear Harle and William Taylor Harle. She graduated from Vega High School in 1966.
Judy married the love of her life, Hal R. Ward, in Boise City, Oklahoma, on May 16, 1966. They raised three kids, Todd, Tye, and Holly, in Vega. She worked for many years at the extension office in Vega, TDCJ in Amarillo, and for many years served as the Justice of the Peace for Oldham County.
Judy loved the simple things in life. She cherished her family, friends, and a good crossword puzzle. She also enjoyed trips to the mountains, fishing at the lake, and exploring every historical marker. At home, she relished sitting in her chair, sipping sweet tea, and watching DIY shows. She looked forward to lunch with the girls and shopping excursions with her besties. Judy was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Vega.
Survivors include her sons, Todd Ward and wife Cristal of Muenster, Texas, and Tye Ward and wife Kimberly of Muenster, Texas; daughter, Holly Helzer and husband Roger of Edmond, Oklahoma; her sister Pamela Harle Dillard of Amarillo, Texas; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Morgan Bebout and husband Seth of Lelia Lake, Texas, Cy Ward, Grant Ward of Muenster, Texas, Stephanie Thomas and husband Kevin of Dart More Victoria, Australia, Jacob Hesse of Whitesboro, Texas, Sarah Monday, Ann Monday, Mae Monday of Muenster, Texas, Lauren Helzer Stemm and husband Christian of Elgin, Illinois, John Helzer, Jaxon Helzer of Edmond, OK, Rowdy Bebout, Hadley Bebout, Brazos Bebout of Lelia Lake, Texas, Maddison Thomas, Ridge Thomas of Dart More Victoria, Australia, and Matilda Stemm of Elgin, Illinois.
Judy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Hal R. Ward, her father and mother, William Taylor Harle and Helen Blanche Spear Harle, her brother, Charles William “Bill” Harle, and her grandson, Whitt Ward.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Milburn-Price Culture Museum, P.O. Box 66, Vega, Texas 79092.
