June Parrick Taylor

June Parrick Taylor passed away peacefully with family at her side on June 22, 2024, at the age of 98.

June Parrick was born to Gerald and Phyllis Parrick in Port Arthur, Texas on May 10, 1926. June spent her childhood in Waco, Texas. She worked her way through the University of Oklahoma where she majored in foreign languages. Shortly after graduation in 1950, she married Steve Taylor of Amarillo. They lived briefly in Austin before moving to Dimmitt, Texas where she began raising her three children. In 1968, the family moved to Amarillo, Texas.

June was always curious about the world around her. Over her lifetime, she read thousands of books on history, government, economics and sociology. She enjoyed volunteering in the Art Center and doing hobbies such as crosswords, miniatures, and needlepoint.

June is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Taylor, and her brother Jerry Parrick of Portland, Oregon.

June is survived by her children Flip Taylor and wife Kelly, Jay Taylor and wife Karen, and Amy Taylor. She also leaves four grandchildren, Ellen McDermott and husband Joe, Ryan Taylor and partner Jordon Fuja, Katy Jolliff and husband Andrew, and Kirsty Taylor. She had one great grandchild, John McDermott.

A private service will be held at Llano Cemetery where June will be buried with the Taylor and Herring families.
