Kenton “Kent” Harvey Miller was born on October 3, 1951, at the naval base in Bremerton, Washington, and passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, surrounded by love.
He was raised in Amarillo, Texas, where he graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1970. At just 14 years old, he met the love of his life, Beverly Brazile Miller. Their story began in the 8th grade and blossomed into a beautiful marriage on August 1, 1970. Together, they shared 55 devoted years of love, faith, and family.
A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Kent carried his dedication to service throughout his life. He owned and operated Miller Plumbing Heating and Air and Miller Rentals for 30 years, building a legacy of hard work and integrity. When multiple sclerosis made it no longer possible for him to continue his business, he turned his passion into teaching, inspiring students in the HVAC program at Clarendon College.
He also faithfully served his community as a volunteer firefighter for many years and as a wrestling coach, mentoring and encouraging young athletes. He found great joy in the outdoors—especially fishing, hunting, and spending time in the mountains, which he loved most.
Above all, he was a devoted Christian whose faith guided every part of his life. In his free time, he volunteered in prison ministry, helping lead many to know Jesus and leaving an eternal impact on countless lives.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His grandchildren lovingly knew him as “Pop,” and he treasured every moment spent with them. Whether he was making them laugh, telling stories, or simply being present, Kent had a special way of making each grandchild feel deeply loved and important. His playful spirit, warm smile, and steady presence created memories they will carry with them forever. He was especially known for his spot-on Donald Duck impression, which brought endless laughter—especially when he would sneeze just like Donald Duck. Being “Pop” was one of his greatest joys, and the love he poured into his grandchildren will live on through each of them.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly Brazile Miller; his children, Kristi Tollefson and husband Kyle, Mendi McPherson and husband Jeff, and Matt Miller and wife Katy; and his six cherished grandchildren, Kalee and Koy Tollefson, Cason and Maddyx McPherson, Berkley Junell and husband Coleman, and Taylor Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Wanda Miller, and his sister, Debbie Melton.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at the VA Medical Center and Hospice Care, who cared for him with such compassion and love over the past three years.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Though our beloved Kent is no longer with us on this earth, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. We find comfort in knowing he is with our Heavenly Father.
