Kristina Reyes-Ruiz

Kristina Reyes-Ruiz, 27, of Amarillo, TX passed away August 22, 2026. Private family services were held. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. Kristina was born September 1, 1998 in El Paso, TX to Patricio and Linda Reyes Ruiz.

Some losses are too deep for words, and some goodbyes were never meant to be said. There are no words beautiful enough to tell the story of our beloved Kristina. She was a daughter who was deeply loved, a beautiful soul who gave more of herself than she ever asked of others, and a light in the lives of those who knew her. Her kindness, compassion, intelligence, creativity, and gentle spirit made her uniquely who she was. To know Kristina was to know someone truly special, and to love her was to carry a piece of her with you forever. Kristina had a beautiful way of finding joy in the little things. She loved getting lost in the pages of a good book, nurturing flowers and succulents, and creating beautiful things with her hands. She had a special love for crochet and crafting, and her artistic spirit could be seen in everything she created. She didn’t simply make things she put pieces of herself into them.

She possessed a remarkable mind and a genuine love for learning. She was fascinated by biochemistry and had a natural curiosity that made her want to understand the world around her. She approached her work with that same determination and dedication. Whatever she did, she gave it her all. She took pride in doing things well and always made an effort to be the very best she could be not for recognition, but because that was simply the kind of person she was. But perhaps what made Kristina most extraordinary was her heart. She put others before herself. She was always willing to help, always ready to give, and often cared for others without anyone ever knowing the sacrifices she made. Her kindness was genuine and came naturally to her. She had a tenderness about her that made her presence feel like a safe place.

She was also a big sister, a role she carried with so much love. Her sister held a very special place in her heart, and the bond they shared was one that could never be replaced.

And then there were her fur babies, George and Sunny, whom she absolutely loved and adored. They were her family, her companions, and a very special part of her world. The love she had for them was unconditional and pure, and anyone who knew her knew just how much they meant to her. Kristina also found happiness in the beauty of the outdoors. She loved hiking and being surrounded by the breathtaking mountains of Colorado. There was something about those mountains their stillness, their beauty, their vastness that spoke to her spirit. Those places where she could breathe deeply, wander freely, and simply take in the beauty around her will forever remind us of her.

She had a beautiful soul one that noticed the little things, loved deeply, created beautifully, and gave generously. We will find her in the pages of a book, in the bloom of a flower, in the tiny leaves of a succulent, in the things made by hand, and in the beauty of the Colorado mountains. We will see her in the wagging tails and loving eyes of George and Sunny. We will carry her with us in every act of kindness, every helping hand, and every moment we choose to put someone else before ourselves.

I believe you are safe in the arms of Jesus now, free from every pain and surrounded by a love greater than anything we could ever know here on earth. And although our hearts are shattered, we hold onto the promise that this is not goodbye forever. It is only goodbye for now.

Kristina is survived by her parents, Patricio and Linda Reyes Ruiz, and her sister, Valerie Ruiz.
