Larry Joseph Roth

Larry Joseph Roth, 83, of Amarillo, TX passed away July 4, 2026.

No services will be held. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Dad was born Jan 21, 1943 in East St. Louis, MO. He married Nancy Ellen Webster on August 7, 1965. Larry worked for Amarillo Hardware, Mesa petroleum as a data processing manager, and in the First National Trust Department.

He loved to fly Cessna and Grumman tiger, he would fly over the house when he was practicing and tilt his wing at us. He loved taking his family on trips like Hawaii and cruises. Larry and Nancy enjoyed travelling to the east coast to see all the different light houses and on an Alaskan cruise. Larry loved all animals especially his schnauzers. He was a big-time handy man and fix it man. If he couldn’t fix it, he would invent a way to fix it. He built lots of furniture, grandfather clocks, anything out of wood. Larry loved working in his shop.

In his early days played racket ball and was a great swimmer. He flew on the concord . Larry enjoyed business trips to Scotland and other places. His interesting hobby was catching tarantulas and molding them inside resin. He could play the piano by ear like the entertainer song and his favorite food was a peanut butter and jelly!

He also loved big band music and bowling, Fox News and his country. Above all else, Larry loved his family.

In lieu of flowers etc, donations may be made to American Heart Association.

He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Elizabeth Roth and son-in-law, Darren Fincher.

Larry is survived by wife, Nancy Roth of Amarillo, TX; daughters, Becky and Lori of Amarillo, TX; sister, Jackie Kolbeck of Florida; grandchildren, Jake Garrett and wife Rachel of Denton, TX; Sam Garrett and wife Cheyanne of Celina, TX, Bailey Borchardt and wife Megan of Fort Worth, TX and Jaci Turner and husband Robert of Fort Worth, TX; and great-grandson, Aaron Garrett.
