Leland Clyde Carpenter went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. Born in Amarillo, Texas, on April 9, 1953, Leland lived a life marked by faith, dedication, and kindness.
He graduated from Amarillo High School and later attended Ozark Bible College. After his studies, he returned to Amarillo, where he spent many years working in broadcast television. Leland worked at KAMR-TV for 35 years, followed by a short time at KVII.
Leland was also a member of Pathpoint Fellowship Church. He will be remembered not only for his steady presence and faithful spirit, but also for the heartfelt way he ended conversations, always hoping that others would “Be Blessed.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean Wright and Nels Jule Carpenter, and by his much-loved aunt, Donna Clyde Arms.
Leland is survived by his sister, Jan Carpenter of Dallas, and by his cousins, James [Jim] Wright of Fredericksburg, Texas, Danny Searl, Paul Searl, Cindy Bailey, Shirley Bailey, Steve Bailey, and Doug Bailey.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Pathpoint Fellowship Church.
