Lida Ruth Reynolds Floyd, 86, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on July 28, 2026.
Services will be at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, August 1, 2026, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Private burial will be at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon, Texas next to her late husband, Roy Reynolds. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.
Lida was born in Woodward, Oklahoma on December 25, 1939, to Lona Lorene (Barnnett) and Albert Fithen. She lived most of her life in Amarillo, Canyon, and Claude, Texas, and spent a short time in Missouri. She worked in sales at White and Kirk, Sakowitz, and Lida Floyd Insurance Agency.
Lida married Lester Crow very early in life and had her two children with him. She later married Roy A. Reynolds, she will be laid to rest beside him. Roy passed from this life in 1993. She then met a super loving and kind companion late in her life named Bill Mayfield. In her later years, Lida enjoyed a loving companionship with John Whitaker while they both resided at The Gardens Memory Home. They held hands, shared stories, often more than once, and found comfort and joy in one another's company.
Lida was a daughter, daughter-in-law, wife, mom, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend. She loved being on the go, loved to dance, and never passed up a chance to celebrate. Dancing was her favorite pastime. She was proud of building a successful insurance business and of all she accomplished throughout her career. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly. Even so, she never quite wanted to admit she was old enough to have grandchildren, much less great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Fithen; mother, Lona Fithen; siblings, Howard Fithen, and Barbara Moats; and grandson, Duston Schultz.
She is survived by her son, Don Crow and wife Vickie; daughter, Jemmi Lombard and husband Russ; grandchildren, Weston Crow, Stephanie Wrather and husband J.J., Clint Schultz and wife Callie, Jesica Justiss and husband Thomas, Sarah Slatton and husband Tim, Kenny Herring and wife Summer, and Cory Lombard and wife Jenna; great-grandchildren, Rilae Kruse and husband Gideon, Audrey Black and husband Nathan, Garrett Wrather, Zoe Schultz, Brian Justiss, Selah Slatton, Leah Slatton, Stella Slatton, Anna Herring, Kate Herring, Reed Herring, and Raelynn Lombard; and siblings, Clara Yarborough and husband Vernon, Leslie Fithen, and Johnny Fithen and wife Lea.
