Linda Powell

Linda Powell, 81, of Dumas, died Thursday, November 5, 2026. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 10, 2026 at Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel, 500 N. Maddox. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas.

Linda was born on June 9, 1945 in Dimmitt to Woody and Edith Mae George. She attended school in Dimmitt and worked for the Castro County Health Clinic. After moving to Dumas, she worked for Walmart as a pharmacy tech for many years. She loved to ride motorcycles, arts and crafts, play games, and spend time with her family. She especially loved her dogs and babies.

She married Larry Powell on April 3, 1970 in Dimmitt, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Larry Powell; two grandsons, London Cortez and Clayton Powell; a great-grandson, Asaiah; and a sister-in-law, Ruth McKinney;

She is survived by a son, Shan Powell and wife Bette of Lawton, Ok.; a daughter, Jana Powell of Dumas; special sister, Joyce Rickerd; a brother-in-law, Tommy Powell and wife Joyce of Mesquite, Tx.; a sister-in-law, Linda Powell of Hereford; six grandchildren, Katilyn Powell, Carson Calloway, Drew Seymour, Haevyn Cahoon, and Kaden Cortez; two great grandchildren, Zoee Powell and Zane Powell; neice, D.D. “Peanut” Saunders; and nephew, Woody Rickerd.
