Lisa Tice, 59, of Dumas, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at First Christian Church with Darrell Wait officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.
Lisa was born in Paola, Kansas to Annie and Jack Bruner. She had worked as a paramedic for many years. She loved her soapmaking business. She also enjoyed working in the garden and growing vegetables. She was especially close to Casey’s mom, Nora Jane Harkrider and her Aunt Lolly Bruner from Oregon. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Lisa’s empathetic kind heart toward others was what she will be remembered for most. She had made many friends everywhere she went and was easy to talk to, from a quick acquaintance at the store to a long-lasting friendship, she treated you like she had known you all of her life. She loved interacting with her customers and friends everywhere she attended craft fairs, giving away her wares when she felt there was a need. She was the very embodiment of “Love thy neighbor” and “Be kind to the stranger” Her need to help others triggered her decision to become a medic with a deep respect for the medical community, which she eventually went from healer to patient on a long hard road for 3 years of hospitalizations, dialysis and illness until her demise and final journey to relief and the ultimate blessing. She will be very much missed by friends and family and the strangers she just met.
She is survived by her husband, Casey Tice of Dumas; children, Alex Tice, Bailey Tice, and Katlyn Tice; brothers, Gene Bruner and Neil Bruner; sister, Julie Bruner; numerous supportive aunts, uncles, and cousins; and extended family.
