Lloyd Beckett Wilson, 79, of Amarillo, TX passed away on February 18, 2023.
Private services will be held.
Lloyd was born in Pennsauken, New Jersey on May 23, 1943, to Ella Beckett, and Hugh Woodburn Wilson Jr. Lloyd served in the Navy from 1961-1968. He served on the USS Intrepid and then transferred to reserves as a Commanding Officer in Bainbridge MD. He received the National Defense Medal and Vietnam Medal. His flag will be flown on the Intrepid in New York in memory of his service. Lloyd resided at Ussery-Roan Veterans Home for the past 7 years where his fellow veterans and staff members became like family. He was never seen without a cup of coffee in hand. Lloyd greeted everyone with a warm welcome and a smile.
He was preceded in death by his father Hugh Woodburn Wilson Jr., His mother Ella Beckett Wilson, and brother Hugh Woodburn Wilson III.
Survivors include his daughter Lisa Bowling and granddaughter Sailor Bowling of Atco, NJ; his son Matthew Wilson who is in active service with the US Navy and his wife, Brooke; Grandson
Aston of Virgina; Nieces Lori Sauceda of Amarillo, TX; Sheri Boatwright of Flint, TX; Traci Kay of Dallas, TX; Nephew Chris Wilson of Clarendon, TX
