Lois was born February 11, 1938, in Clovis, New Mexico to Audrey Mae Blagg and C.P. Thompson

Lois married Daris Ward on August 18, 1954, and they raised 3 children together but lost one child Michael Wayne after birth due to complications. They attended Paramount Baptist Church for the last 48 years. Lois was a member of multiple choirs at Paramount and loved to sing for Jesus as often as she could. God blessed Lois with her voice and many other talents, and she was proud to share her gifts in any way possible. Lois loved the holidays, especially Christmas, and her home showed it with decorations galore. All the family gathered around the fireplace singing and worshiping our Lord. The birth of Jesus and his life was the center of their home and with reenactments of the birth of Jesus, and all the cast and characters of his birth with the grandkids and the great grandkids as the cast. Thanksgiving was a time for family and friends, they all would come to their home and share a meal fit for a King and watch football till the “Cow”boys” come home. But that was who she was a gracious host and a loving Mom and Nana to all who came through her door.

Lois attended Friona Public Schools and went on to become a Licensed Beautician working at Palo Duro Beauty Salon with most of her career at the Carousel Beauty Salon while raising a family in Amarillo. She had many clients and friends that stayed with her throughout her long career. She loved her ladies and would do anything to take care of them and worked hard to help provide for her family in a field she loved dearly, but they loved her as much as she did them. After Daris passed away she moved to the Craig and was quickly recognized as a “Hospitality Host” which enabled her to share her gift of hospitality with all who entered and lived there. She had very special caregivers Virginia, Robyn and Brian and friends whom she loved dearly during the last year of her life and through her passing that were so important to Lois in her last days.

Lois was preceded in death by her mother, Audrey Mae, her husband Daris, a son Michael Wayne, daughter, Debbie Little, five brothers, Trueman, Verdain, Bill, Kim, and Laverl, sister, Mona Dean Thompson, and one great great-granddaughter, Lilah June.
