Lucille Lorraine “Cille” (Facey) Sewill

May 16,1924 - November 21, 2025

Lucille Lorraine “Cille” Sewill, age 101, passed away peacefully. Born May 16, 1924, in Larimore, North Dakota, she was the daughter of Harry and Agnes (Swanson) Facey. After the passing of her mother when she was three years old, her father later married Berthelda Ballantine, whom Cille lovingly regarded as her mom throughout her life.

Cille married her high-school sweetheart, Burvett “Bud” Sewill, on November 16, 1944, in Larimore while he was home on military leave. Together they built a beautiful life defined by devotion, adventure, and family. As an Army Air Force wife, Cille embraced each new chapter with grace, turning every place they lived—whether in Germany, Panama, or various states across the U.S.—into a warm and welcoming home. Along the way, they welcomed their three children: Tavia, Harry, and Frank.

After Bud retired from the service in 1973, Cille and Bud settled in Hideaway Lake, Texas, where they quickly became an active and cherished part of the community. They remained there until Bud’s passing in 2001. Soon after, Cille moved to Conroe, Texas, and later relocated to Amarillo in 2007.

Cille had a generous spirit and a remarkable talent for creating beauty and connection. She was an avid baker, a skilled bridge player, a gifted ceramic artist, and she loved to sew, embroider, and crochet.

During her last three years, she resided at the Amarillo Center for Skilled Care, where she brightened the days of those who cared for her and received exceptional, loving care.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Burvett “Bud” Sewill, and her son, Harry Sewill. Cille is survived by her daughter Tavia and son-in-law Edward of Amarillo, Texas; her daughter-in-law Susan Sewill of Conroe, Texas; and her son Frank and daughter-in-law Mary Jane Sewill of Fresno, California.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Celee Spidel, Dasa Sewill, Zachary Sewill and his wife Brittney, Danielle Walker and her husband Scott, Amanda Sewill and her wife Nikki Bi, Carty Sewill, and Lacey Cox and her husband Aaron.

Additionally, she is survived by twelve great-grandchildren: Kutis Spidel and his wife Brooke, Grace Spidel, Mia Spidel, Wyatt Spidel and his wife Kelsey, Lucie Spidel, Aeron Sewill, Olivia Sewill, Thomas Walker, William Walker, Charlotte Cox, and Avery Cox. Each of them brought immense joy to her life.
