Lynnal Wayne Randolph

L. Wayne Randolph, 82, of Amarillo, died on Saturday, August 10, 2024. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at the Dumas Cemetery. Military rites will be by American Legion Post #224. A visitation for friends and family will be held at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, August 12, 2024 from 6-7 PM. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Wayne was born on June 11, 1942 in Levelland. He graduated from Dumas High School in 1960. He attended Amarillo College and earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. He later earned a master's degree from West Texas State University.

Wayne worked as a policeman in Dumas, Deer Park, and retired from the Amarillo Police Dept. He had worked in special crimes and as a liaison. He enjoyed riding motorcycles in his free time.

He married Gay Nell Gordon on April 28, 1973.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charles Randolph and Donnie Randolph; a sister, Jeannie McClain; and two stepsons, Eddie Scott and Markal Scott.

He is survived by his wife Gay Nell Randolph of Amarillo; a son, Gary Randolph and wife Lynn of McKinney; a daughter, Shannon Evans and husband Randall of Paw Paw, WV.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
