Margaret Evelyn Savage

Margaret Evelyn Bowman Savage, 87, of Fritch, TX, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026.

Private funeral service will be at the Pantheon Mausoleum Chapel at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Margaret was born on December 20, 1938, on the Frances E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, WY, to Thomas and Margaret Bowman. In 1968, she married William Savage in Amarillo. They made their home in Fritch, TX. Margaret was the Lake Meredith Aquatic and Wildlife Museum Director for ten years and spent another ten years at the Hutchinson County Tax and Title office. She was a member of St. Andrew Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, William Edward Savage; her son, Thomas H.

Savage and wife Teri, of Azle, TX; daughter, Margaret Lynn Brooks and husband Scott, of Wheeler, TX; sister, Frances Bowman, of Fritch, TX; brother, Douglas M. Bowman; surrogate son, Michael Stroud and wife Lisa of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, T.J. Savage, Katie Baker, Austin Brooks, surrogate grandson, Jason Stroud; and great-granddaughter, Scarlett Brooks.

The family suggests memorials to the Amarillo Humane Society.
