Marilyn May Gipson, 90, of Amarillo, Texas, transitioned into heaven on August 20, 2026. She was born in Sudan, Texas, on December 19, 1935, to Eva and Grady Maxwell.
On December 27, 1954, Marilyn married the love of her life, Harry Gipson. Together, they shared a beautiful life and raised four children, and their family grew to include ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Marilyn and Harry devoted more than fifty years to ministry, demonstrating an enduring love and commitment to God, their family, and the many communities they served.
Marilyn’s strong work ethic was evident from a very young age. Throughout her life, she embraced many roles, including minister’s wife, homemaker, teacher’s aide, customer service manager, and business office manager. In every position, she served others with dedication, compassion, and a willingness to work hard.
Above all, Marilyn treasured her faith and her family. Her life was a testament to love, service, perseverance, and devotion to God. She leaves behind a lasting legacy that will continue through the generations of her family and all those whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of more than 55 years, Harry Gipson; her brother, Rex Maxwell; and her sister, Wanda Rich.
She is survived by her brothers, Richard Maxwell (Genell) and Kenneth Maxwell (Theresa); her children, Cindy Stewart (Russell), Donnie Gipson (Terri), Julie Eldridge, and Robert Gipson (Julie); her grandchildren, Valerie Smith (Chris), Kenny Stewart (Merritt), Lindsey Page (Brady), Tyler Gipson (Carley), Emily Eldridge, Sarah Eldridge, Jackson Eldridge, Brian Gipson (Melissa), Jennifer Gann (Aaron), and Carmen Gipson; and her great-grandchildren, Katelyn Smith, Ethan Smith, Jacob Stewart, Katie Stewart, Macie Stewart, Pressley Page, Paycen Page, Wyatt Gipson, and Zoey Gipson.
A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Anna Street Church of Christ, 2310 Anna Street, Amarillo, TX 79106.

Marilyn’s earthly journey has ended, but her legacy of faith, love, service, and family will live on in the hearts and lives of those she leaves behind. She is now at home with the Lord she faithfully served.
