Marilyn Hope Upchurch Moody

Marilyn Hope Upchurch Moody, 75, of Amarillo, TX passed away October 23, 2026.

Celebration of life will be at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at Trinity Fellowship Student Ministry Center. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Marilyn was born on December 10, 1950 to Betty and Bill Upchurch in Amarillo Texas. She attended Caprock High School and Amarillo College before following David to her beloved Texas A&M where she graduated in 1974 with a degree in Curriculum & Instruction. She was a teacher with CISD at Valleyview Junior High and Westover Park Junior High until her retirement. She helped lead several trips to our Nation’s Capital area teaching her favorite subject, history. She met her husband at AC and they were married on August 11, 1972. She was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church.

She is survived by he husband David Moody, their two sons Joshua Moody and wife Rian, Nathan Moody, and grandsons Miles Moody and Malachi “kai” Moody, all of Amarillo, Sister Darlene Wade and husband Norman, brother Jack Upchurch and wife Becky, nephews Ben Wade and wife Jada, Nicholas Wade, Caleb Upchurch and wife Kate, and niece Whitney Campbell, and several great nieces.
