Mary Ann Dixon

Mary Ann Dixon, 85, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on June 17, 2023.

Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 21, 2023, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mary Ann was born in Hico, Texas on November 27, 1937, to Rip and Margie Newton. She attended Plainview High School. While in high school, Mary Ann met Carl Dixon. The two married on January 20, 1955, in Plainview, Texas and shared 68 years of marriage. Together they lived in Plainview, Texas for 5 years, Lubbock, Texas for 7 years, and then moved to Amarillo, Texas.

Mary Ann loved to decorate her home, she enjoyed crafts, and she was a wonderful cook. She was a classy lady and was always dressed her best. She loved to match her jewelry to her clothing and shoes. Mary Ann could often be found attending garage sales.

Mary Ann was a member of the Church of Christ and loved to serve her church. She could often be found in the nursery or helping write get well soon cards.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and son, Roger Dixon (1983).

She is survived by her husband, Carl Dixon, of the home; daughters, Carla DeFrance and husband Larry, of Laguna Vista, Texas, and Peggy Bassett and husband Teddy, of Amarillo, Texas; grandchildren, Ponda Auger, Brandon Dixon, Stefan Dixon, April Casey, Mandy Delile, DeAnn Hunton, DeNay Sellers, Tasha Bassett, and Ashley Bassett; 15 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
