Maurice Lee Sproul

Maurice Lee Sproul, 90 years and 3 months of Amarillo, Texas passed away on December 6, 2025.

Burial will be at Soldier, Kansas at a later date. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers, 2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, Texas.

Maurice was born August 13, 1935, in Soldier, Kansas to Lyle and Eunice Sproul, on a farm with no electricity or no running water. His family moved to Clay Center, Kansas in 1947. Maurice graduated from Clay Center High School in 1953, He graduated from Kansas State University in 1957 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. In 1982 he received a Professional Engineer License in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Mason and Hanger Corp. for 41 years.

Maurice had an Amateur Radio License for 67 years, finished as Extra Class license. He built electronic things in his workshop. He had a computer at home before there were any out there. He was a serious hunter, for pheasants, quail, deer, and one black bear. He was a serious teacher for our sons and their friends.

He married Elizabeth Cole on May 26,1956. They had twin sons Mark and Keith born on January 7, 1959. Maurice and Elizabeth were married 69 years. They lived in seven states, and retired in Amarillo, Texas.
