Melissa Puga

It is with a heavy heart to announce that beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend Melissa Puga, 48, of Pampa, TX passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025. She spent her final moments in Amarillo, TX with her loved ones.

Melissa will be available for viewing from 12-8:00 PM, Friday May 16, 2025, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd in Amarillo, TX. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel followed by the burial at 11:00 AM at Llano Cemetery, 2900 S Hayes St in Amarillo, TX. Arrangements are made by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Melissa was born November 25, 1976, in Lamar, CO to Oscar Puga and Elisa Perales. She lived a life of laughter, dedication and loving memories with family and friends. Melissa was a graduate of Holly High School in 1995. She was a beacon of strength for her children, Marcos Ramos, Alexandra Chavez, Oscar Gonzalez, and Mercedes Gonzalez. She instilled in her children a strong work ethic and a deep sense of empathy. Beyond her role as a mother, she was an exceptional employee for multiple businesses. Her love for music, shows, puzzles and crafts brought her peace and joy. Melissa was passionate about making memories with her children and playing with her grandchildren, visiting with family that lived miles away and having her favorite drinks with friends. She left a mark on all the hearts who knew her; she will be dearly missed.

Melissa is survived by her daughters, Alexandra Chavel (Angel Acosta Macias of Amarillo, TX and Mercedes Gonzalez (Ryan Deforest) of Pampa, TX; sons, Marcos Ramos of Lamar, CO and Oscar Gonzalez Jr. of Pampa, TX; mother, Elisa Perales of Lamar, CO; father, Oscar Puga of Greely, CO; and siblings, Cory Puga of Norton, KS, Anna Cano of Lafayette, CO, Diana Cano of Colorado Springs, CO, Inez Samanitgo of Greely, CO, Oscar Puga Jr. of Greely, CO, Lynette Puga of Livermore, CO, Joel Puga of Greely, CO, and Jorge Alvarez of Greely, CO.
