Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Chaplain Gary Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Michael was born August 3, 1956, in Columbus, OH to Charlsie Tolliver and Seldon McIntosh Sr. Michael’s father was a veteran of the United States Airforce and served honorably in the Vietnam war. Michael met his wife, Valerie Sibert at Hill Airforce Base, UT in 1980. Michael served 20 years in the United States Airforce as an ammunitions systems specialist. His military service encompassed the cold war era, the Gulf War Conflict and Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Michael retired at the rank of Master Sergeant in 1995. He and his family then moved to Amarillo, TX in 1998. After his military retirement, Michael worked for BNSF Railroad and then the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Michael was first and foremost a child of God. He loved God and was proud of his faith. Michael was always a believer, but his faith grew stronger as he aged. Among some of his greatest joys in life was watching his children grow. If he wasn’t coaching their sports teams, he could be heard enthusiastically cheering them on. If you found yourself in the right setting, you would be treated to an endless barrage of stories regarding his children’s accomplishments. If your luck continued, you may have also found yourself on his team for a game of trivial pursuit. Michael had an uncanny ability to recall the most obscure sports statistics. He could also retain knowledge and information on everything from ancient history to modern pop-culture.
Michael was a fan of all types of music; he enjoyed genres ranging from classical to country from artists like Bach to Merle Haggard. He was an avid reader. Some of his favorite authors include John Steinbeck, James Lee Burke, C.S. Lewis, and A.W. Tozer. Regardless of how many books he read, he always found the most joy in studying the word of God. His favorite version of the bible was King James.
He is preceded in death by his father, Seldon McIntosh Sr.; mother, Charlsie Tolliver; younger brother, Dwayne McIntosh; and his closest four-legged best friend, Murphy.
Michael is survived by his wife, Valerie McIntosh of Amarillo, TX; brother, Seldon Jr. of Amarillo, TX; sons, Timothy McIntosh and wife Jullia of Panhandle, TX, and Sean McIntosh and wife Amanda of Amarillo, TX, Matthew McIntosh and wife Macayla of Amarillo, TX, and Connor McIntosh and wife Elise of Amarillo, TX; and eight grandchildren, Cooper, Hunter, Ayden, Abigail, Jackson, Theodora, Madison, and Cecily.
