Michael Shane Orman

Michael Shane Orman was born on September 20, 1970, in Lubbock, Texas to Bill and Kaye Orman. He passed away on July 25, 2026, in Amarillo, Texas surrounded by his loving family.

He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who took immense pride in the people he loved and found his greatest happiness when spending time with them.

Shane lived his life with an open heart, embracing family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to cross his path. Whether he was telling a story, delivering the perfect punchline, or bestowing a nickname on someone, he loved to joke around and often made ordinary interactions unforgettable. His sense of humor was matched only by his generosity, kindness, and unwavering love for his family and friends.

Shane graduated from Floydada High School in 1989 and headed to Lubbock to become a Texas Tech Red Raider. While at Tech, he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity. He graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in Agricultural Economics, which reflected his passion for farming and working the land. He also loved drag racing and Texas Tech sports, especially football.

Shane truly never met a stranger and had an enormous circle of friends spanning every season of his life. He was known as the “glue” that kept his friend groups together and was famous among them for regularly calling to check on everyone.

Professionally, Shane was the proud owner of the Farmers Insurance Agency in Amarillo, where, true to his nature, clients became friends. He enjoyed being involved in his community as a member of the Amarillo Rotary Club, and as a man of faith, he attended Faith Southwest United Methodist Church and was a part of the Methodist Men’s Breakfast Club.

He leaves behind his mother, Kaye Biggers Orman of Dallas; his wife of four years, Paige Dickens Orman of Amarillo; his daughter, Karley Orman Love (Kyle) of Amarillo; sons, Max Orman and Brunner Orman, both of Amarillo; grandson, Sutton Love of Amarillo; and sister, Misti Orman Jeffryes of Dallas. He is also survived by his bonus children, Brittany Melton (Nathan) of Amarillo, and Landon Reinke (Makaylee) of Amarillo; bonus grandchildren, Raylon, Hallie and Reese Melton, and Ellie Reinke all of Amarillo; and his loyal companion, Huckleberry Finn.

Shane will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, TX. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Saint Stephen Church of Amarillo, 4600 S. Western St. Burial will be held afterwards at 2:00 P.M., at the Floydada Cemetery.
