Michael Anthony Risinger, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born and raised in Carrizo Springs, TX, the son of Clyde Carter Risinger and Mary Jean Risinger Crawford.
A proud graduate of Carrizo Springs High School, class of 1970. Mike went on to earn his degree from Sam Houston State University in 1975. He later built a life of love and laughter with his wife, Sherry, in Amarillo, TX.
Mike was a lifelong cattle rancher, known for his colorful sense of humor and the countless stories he told- often wild, always unforgettable. He had a wide circle of friends and a deep love for the South Texas land that shaped him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, C. Stephen Risinger and Thomas A. Risinger.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Ann Risinger and faithful dog, Molly Sue; their children, Michael Risinger and wife Heather, Lauren Langwell and husband Dusty, Katie Dorflinger and husband Ivan, and Jared Hooley and wife Taryn; and grandchildren, Aden and Nola Risinger, Tatum, Haiden, and Jackson Langwell, Otto Dorflinger, and Dash Hooley; sister, Elizabeth King and husband Harold; and many extended family members and close friends that will miss him dearly.
Please join us to celebrate Mike’s life at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Pan American Event Center, 3421 Highway 85 Carrizo Springs, Tx. Private family burial will precede the celebration. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, Potter County Employee Benefit Fund, 13103 NE 29th, Amarillo, TX 79111 or a charity of your choice.
