Miguel Rivera, 88, of Amarillo, TX passed away October 5, 2026.

Miguel will be available for viewing from 8:00 AM-8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount. Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, October 8, 2026 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Memorial mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM, Friday, October 9, 2026 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1210 SE 11th. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Miguel was born June 11, 1938 in Guadalupe de Atlas, Asientos, Ags., Mexico to Eugenio Rivera and Belem Castillo.

Miguel loved baseball, watching dancing and music videos, and food! Among his favorites were carne asada, beef, barbacoa, birria, mole, rice, burgers, pizza, and coca cola. He enjoyed watching soccer and documentaries and earlier in life, lived in Chicago for 25 years. He had 7 children and raised a few on his own.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Belem Castillo; and siblings, Elisa Rivera, Sara Rivera, and Eliseo Rivera.

Miguel is survived by his children, Maria Rivera de Perez and husband Raul, Francisco Rivera and wife Cilveria, Belen Mata and husband Juan, Juan Carlos Rivera and wife Carmen, Miguel Rivera and wife Mayra, Jose Rivera, and Cynthia Rivera and husband Armando Flores; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
