Molly Charolyn Waters Gouldy age 91 of Wildorado TX passed away March 17, 2026.
Visitation will be from 5-6:30 PM, Friday, March 20, 2026 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the Wildorado Palo Duro Baptist Church. Burial following the services will be at the Wildorado Palo Duro Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Charolyn was born in Hammon OK on Oct 24, 1934 to Lucy L Davis and Charlie Neal Waters. She shared a close bond with her brother, Jerry and sister, Sandy. Charolyn lived on ranches in Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas which she loved. She attended schools in Odell, Tx, Folsom, New Mexico, Groom and Dumas Tx. Upon high school graduation she attended Draughin's Business College in Amarillo, TX.
Charolyn met and married Clifford Wayne Gouldy in Amarillo. They lived in Vega and Wildorado, TX. She worked at Southwestern Public Services in Vega. She was appointed Postmaster at Wildorado January 1983. Where she served for 26 years upon retirement.
Charolyn and Wayne lovingly raised 2 girls, Sharla Elaine and Sheri Lorraine and 2 boys, Cliff Neal and Clint Wayne. She is survived by her children Sharla Gouldy Fisher, Cliff Gouldy and wife Lori, Sheri Artho and husband Steve, Clint Gouldy and wife Denise. Ten grandchildren, Reid Richardson and wife Shawnee, Ryan Richardson and wife Jendi, Siara Richardson, Charlie Myers and husband Codi, Cami Gouldy, Sheridan Visser and husband Austin, Jake Gouldy and wife Paighton, Abby Flores and husband Mario and Ty Gouldy. Sixteen Great grandchildren, Kenzi, Brooklyn, Deaken, Jedd, Brody, Trevor, Molly, Crease, Coy, Cali-Ann, Stetson, Laramie, Luke, Dawson, Tatum and Eli. Along many cherished nieces and nephews.
Charolyn was proceeded in death by her husband Wayne Gouldy, her parents Charlie and Lucy Waters, brother Jerry Waters and Sister Sandy Winnette, and a dear grandson Nolan Artho.
Charolyn had many fond memories of her life growing up on numerous ranches. She loved working outside with horses and cattle alongside her daddy rather than kitchen chores helping out her beloved mother.
In her younger years she was a member of the Will Rogers horseback square dancing drill team. Cowboy Poetry was a passion of hers for many years. She wrote many wonderful poems in her life span many encompassed the heritage of the cowboy way of life. She wrote from the heart and the life she experienced.
She was very active in the community, PTA, many school activities. She was a long-standing member of the local Home Demonstration club (TEEA) She enjoyed her fellowship as a member of the Sisters in Christ. She delivered more than her share of meals to her friends and neighbors in their time of need.
She performed along many cowboy poets reciting her own heartfelt poems at her SWCPA club, local schools, nursing homes, AQHA Day of the Cowboy, Nara Visa Cowboy Gathering and other Western Heritage celebrations.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She gave all her heart and soul to her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Spending hours of fun and laughter and creating memories with them will be her legacy.
Charolyn will be remembered for her beautiful smile, good humor, nurturing heart, fierce love for her family and countless lives she touched throughout her years of service and devotion. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will live on in all who knew and loved her.
