Monica April Rangel, 49, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends whose lives she touched so deeply.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, Texas.

Monica was born on April 1, 1977, in Dimmitt, Texas, to Joaquin and Andrea (Hernandez) Delacruz. She graduated from Dimmitt High School and later attended West Texas A&M University. Determined to fulfill her calling of caring for others, Monica earned her nursing degree from Amarillo College in 2024 and proudly served as a registered nurse. Her compassion, dedication, and gentle spirit made a meaningful difference in the lives of those she cared for.

On June 19, 2015, Monica married the love of her life, Felix Rangel. Together they built a life filled with laughter, love, and unwavering support for one another. Monica cherished time spent with family and friends and had a unique gift for making everyone feel welcome. She truly never met a stranger. Her warmth, kindness, and genuine interest in others drew people to her wherever she went.

Monica enjoyed visiting the Farmer’s Market, where she loved discovering fresh finds and supporting local vendors. She took great pride in her appearance and was rarely without her favorite lipstick. Monica believed in putting her best foot forward, and her confidence and grace reflected the beautiful person she was inside and out. She had a vibrant personality, a contagious smile, and a caring heart that left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Above all, Monica treasured her family. She found joy in celebrating milestones, gathering loved ones together, and creating memories that will be cherished for generations. The legacy of her love, generosity, and friendship will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Monica is survived by her loving husband, Felix Rangel of Amarillo, Texas; her parents, Joaquin and Andrea Delacruz of Canyon, Texas; her sisters, Crystal Delacruz of Abernathy, Texas, and Kassandra Delacruz of Canyon, Texas; sisters-in-law Clara Xeunvilay and husband John of Amarillo, Texas, and Olivia Najera and husband Pablo of Brenham, Texas; uncles Tomas Hernandez of Katy, Texas, and Hildo Delacruz of Fort Worth, Texas; nephews Maddox Dominguez, Jakeum Delacruz, Maddox Najera, Benjamin Ho, Dung Ho, and Jensen Xeunvilay; niece Madaleine Najera; special cousin Matias Hernandez; and her beloved dogs, Dax and Diva.

Monica’s memory will forever be a blessing to those who knew and loved her. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit, kindness, and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of family and friends always.
