Monnie Lorene Green

Monnie Lorene Green, passed away November 30, 2025.

Memorial service will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Bolton St. Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Monnie was born to Samuel Lee and Lula Luisa Wunneburger in Bastrop, TX on the family farm. She was the youngest of 10 children. At the age of 7, they moved to Mason, Texas. At the age of 10, they moved to Big Spring, TX and then not long afterward to Lubbock, TX.

On May 3, 1951 she married Walter (Bill) Green. They were married for 73 years when he passed away.

Monnie had 4 children, Albert Lee, Joan Elane, William Lloyd, and Donna. William Lloyd and Donna both died at birth.

Monnie was saved when she was 12 years old and was a longtime member of Bolton St. Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and nana!

She is survived by her son, Albert and wife Karen; 5 grandchildren, Desiree Acree, Jena Wall, Rebecca Green, Charlie Green, and William (Billy) Green; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Monnie is preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Walter (Bill) Green; daughter, Joan Elaine Doster; and 9 siblings.
