Patricia Franklin
Patricia Pearl Hunt was born in Groom, Texas on January 18, 1950. She graduated from Groom High School in 1968 and then pursued her bachelor’s of education degree from West Texas State University. That is where she met David Franklin, her college sweetheart. They were married in 1969 and were very blessed to celebrate 52 years of marriage.
They enjoyed time with family, watching their grandkids play sports, and camping by the river in Colorado.
They were members of Hillside Christian Church and enjoyed serving and teaching in the preschool department.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David, her parents, Kenneth and Earlene Hunt, and her brother, Herb Hunt.
Patricia was Nana to 7 grand kids, 1 great granddaughter and 1 on the way. She loved and cherished her grandkids and time spent with them through the years.
She is survived by her son, Marc Franklin and wife Lori, granddaughter Bethany Flowers and husband Grady, grandson Koby Franklin and granddaughter Jayli Franklin, her daughter Lisa Smith and husband Gary, grandson Brady Willimon and wife Tanna, great-granddaughter Ariel, granddaughters Avery Smith and Alissa Smith, and grandson Mason Smith.
She faced the most challenging phase of life on September 22, 2021 when she lost her beloved husband, David. She continued to be blessed and cared for by her family and some amazing friends that showed up for her and showered her with so much love and kindness.
For the last 5 plus years, she has prayed for the day she got to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. On Tuesday morning, October 6, 2026 her prayer was answered.
We want to give a special thank you to all of her friends that checked on her, whether in person or by phone. It really was a bright spot in her day. We also want to thank Gina, Natalie, LaDonna and all the wonderful care staff at Sky West Amarillo. Thank you for being so good to her, and treating her with love and compassion, especially the French toast mornings, as a special treat.
And last but not least, thank you to Enhabit Home Health and Hospice for the compassionate care she received to keep her moving, encouraged, and comfortable.
There will be a visitation and celebration of life October 13, 2026, 6:00-7:30 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Let us give thanks to the Lord for he is good. His mercy and love endures forever. Amen!
