Patricia Sue Tucker

December 19, 1944 — August 1, 2025

Patricia “Pat” Sue Tucker, 80, of Austin, TX passed away August 1, 2025.

Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount. Graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Pat came from the Texas Youth Commission with over twenty-five years of experience in State Government. For the past five years, she had been the Assistant Director of training at her agency. She started the first Parole Officer III Academy and the first Community Services Academy for Texas Youth Commission. Other special projects included training for trainers for supervisors and professional support workshops. Before joining the training department, Pat worked as a parole officer covering 30 counties of the Texas Panhandle as well as a contract specialist and volunteer coordinator in the Austin area.

Pat obtained her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Sociology. She completed the training for trainers at the National Academy of Corrections in Colorado, she was a certified trainer for therapeutic crisis intervention for Cornell University in Ithica, NY. Pat was also a certified social worker and a licensed child care administrator through DHS.

When you couldn’t find Pat, she had probably hung a sign on the door which said, “Gone Junkin.” She was an avid collector and dealer in American Primitives and old grocery store items as well as authentic Coke and train collectables. She enjoyed walking, particularly the flea markets in the New England area, but also around Town Lake in Austin. Most of all, she enjoyed having fun and helping people enjoy Adult Training!

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Tucker; nephew, Christopher Nufer; parents, Alex and Dorothy White; and best friend, Sandy Burnam.

Pat is survived by her sister, Sydney Nufer; brother, Mike White and wife Sandy; nephews, Mike Nufer and Nick White; niece, Melissa Eckart; 4 great nieces; and 3 great-nephews.

All of our family wants to recognize Anna Hamilton and Jasmine Jones and the Trinity Hospice team. Also, Robin Dockal, Jennifer St John, and the team at Heritage Lakes Assisted Living. These people are truly angels among us and we are so thankful for them.
