Patsy (Pat) Ann Jenkins

Pat Jenkins was welcomed with a peaceful arrival in Heaven on February 28, 2024.  She was born September 24, 1935 in Dallas, Texas to Carl and Mary Ellen Jones.

She met her husband James (Jim) Jenkins at Texas Tech University and they were married in 1955 and celebrated 69 years of marriage. She spent most of her adult life in El Paso, Texas serving as the school secretary at Marion Manor Elementary School for 30 years. Upon moving to Amarillo after retirement, her and Jim happily became members of Central Church of Christ.

Pat lived her life in service to her family, it never mattered what the activity was, she was whole-heartedly ready and willing to participate with gusto.  She made everyone’s birthdays special by always offering up their favorite meal and a party with decorations and a party hat.  She was an avid crafter – quilting, sewing, needlepoint, card-making, and anything crafty.  She also loved working in her yard.  She was a zealous crossword puzzler and sat down with her coffee and crossword puzzle every day of her life. She often provided doggy day care for her grand-dogs Jypsie, Jimmy, and Jakky who visited her regularly at the nursing home. She was a patient, positive, pleasant, easy-going, and happy woman who was a joy to be around.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Bobby Jones, and sister Mary Jane Haley.  She is survived by her husband Jim of Amarillo, her son Mike Jenkins and wife Kim of Murphy, Texas, her daughter Jill Miller of Amarillo, her granddaughters Kelly Jenkins and Katie Jenkins, and her granddogs.

A private family graveside service was held at Llano Cemetery.
