Peggy Jo Koontz Bosley, 91, of Amarillo, TX, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023

Visitation will be from 6-7:00 PM, Friday, August 18, 2023 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. Services will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 19, 2023, at First Christian Church of Amarillo. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Peggy was born February 11, 1932, in Stratford, TX, to Eccle and Cecile Koontz. She graduated from Amarillo High School and attended Amarillo College. For many years, Peggy served as Chairman of the High School Reunion Committee.

Peggy married the love of her life, Kenneth Maxwell “Ken” Bosley on May 23, 1953, in West Amarillo Christian Church. Upon his death on May 30, 2010, they had been happily married for 57 years.

Peggy was a faithful follower of Christ and had a servant’s heart. She served as Past Matron of A.E. Shirey, O.E.S., and past President of Northwest Texas Hospital Auxiliary. She was an active member of First Christian Church, where she served as Secretary to the General Board, Chairman of the Worship Department, Vice Chairman of Membership/Fellowship Department, a Deaconess and as past President of the Friendship Sunday School Class. She also was a Pioneer Partner in the Telephone Pioneers of America, and a member of the Knife and Fork Club of Amarillo.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ken Bosley; brothers, James O. Koontz and T.J. Koontz; sisters, Nan Ferguson and Pat Renfro; and niece, Misty Willingham and her husband Jack Willingham.

Peggy is survived by her nieces and nephews, Jerry Ferguson and wife Linda of Amarillo, TX, Maurice Ferguson of Amarillo, TX, Cecilia Hall of Plainview, TX, Bobby Ferguson and wife Angela of Ponder, TX, Debbie Grant and husband Jeff of Quitman, TX, David Koontz and wife Rita of Amarillo, TX, Jim Koontz and wife Karla of Amarillo, TX, Lyn Jackson of Lubbock, TX, Samantha Wright and husband Kerry of Lubbock, TX, Greg Koontz and wife Susan of Granbury, TX, sister-in-law, Cherie Koontz of Granbury, TX, and many great-nephews, great-nieces, and great-greats.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to First Christian Church, 3001 Wolflin, Ave., Amarillo, TX 79109.
