Rebecca Sue Pedigo

April 11, 1966 — May 31, 2025

Rebecca Sue Pedigo, 59, of Torrance, California went home to be with the Lord, May 31, 2025.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Becky Pedigo was a daughter/sister/friend/standup comic, and so much more. She was born in Amarillo, Texas in 1966. Becky was always laughing and making others laugh. Her parents separated when she was seven-years old, so she watched her single mom work double-time to raise her and her older brother. Even though things were tight, Becky would always be happy and laughing. She was a “free-spirit,” kind and generous, and that’s what drew so many people to her.

I’m not sure how she ended up getting up on the stage at Jolly’s Comedy Club in the 80’s, but she did. And she loved it! It wasn’t long before she was telling her family that she wanted to be a comedian. That free-spirit kicked in and she was driving all over the country. Becky was fearless- she would head out on bald tires and just enough money in her wallet to get her to the next comedy club and laugh it off. Becky was a strong, independent woman. Very independent.

After traveling the country and even outside of the country, she fell in love with the California weather and the comedian friends she had made out there. Becky would love to laugh at her brother and mom when they would call and talk about how cold it was in Amarillo, or that the wind was blowing. She would quickly let them know how nice it was at her house but would make you laugh while doing it.

Later in her life she finally got tired of the road and started writing. She loved to read and write, and write, and write. She would write jokes, write stories…Becky always had stories bouncing around in her head. Becky also was an encourager. She would encourage her friends, her brother, her mother. That was just who she was. A common theme from so many of her friends was, she was classy, kind and encouraging.

Becky was an independent, free-spirit who left this world too early. Becky was battling breast cancer and in the typical Becky way, didn’t want to burden anyone around her. She battled it quietly until the end. Becky loved to see people laugh and smile, and that was just who she was.

We love you, Becky.

Becky is preceded in death by her father, Don Schofield. She is survived by her mother, Connie Schofield, from Amarillo; brother, Terry Pedigo and wife Suzanne of Amarillo; niece, Taylor Brewster and husband Blayne and their two children, Jackson and Sophia of Amarillo; nephew, Hayden Pedigo and wife L’Hannah of Oklahoma City. Plus, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc., too many to name, but all loved her.
