Rhea Felta Hicks

Rhea Felta Hicks, 89, of Amarillo, TX passed away August 7, 2026.

Visitation will be from 5:30-7:30 PM, Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 14, 2026 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Rhea was born November 29, 1936 in Amarillo, TX to Lewis and Frances Knighton. Rhea loved cats and had 33 outdoor cats at one time. She was a good mother and always enjoyed spending time with her family. Rhea was a good daughter and devoted her life to her family. She was kind-hearted and loved talking to younger people; never met a stranger! Rhea was loyal, bright, sweet, she loved people and had a gift of making anyone smile. She was god fearing and loved her home church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Don Hicks.

Rhea is survived by her daughter, Terri Gaye Figuls; son, Gary Dean McMillian; grandchildren, Brianna, Trevor, Garrett, and Hannah; sisters, Donna O’Brien and Lura Duncan; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
