Robert Jones (Bob), passed away peacefully at Caprock Nursing and Rehab around noon on January 20, 2026. Bob was given a nickname at the home, it was Pop’s. he really loved all his nurses, aides, and caregivers there. He made his most important decision to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Bob had various careers through his life. He started as a body man right out of highschool; this is where he was given his CB handle “Bondo.”
He then worked as a rough neck on a drilling rig until he started for Phillips Petroleum Company Borger Refinery. His last career before retirement was an oilfield truck driver for Shelton Brothers and later Adams Tank and Equipment. This is where he was given another nickname, “Slug-O.” Before having to move into Caprock, he enjoyed his fireplace with his babies (cats), old westerns, and time with his sons and grandkids. He enjoyed spending time with his sisters when he could.
When he was a young father of his two boys, they had many hobbies. They enjoyed riding dirtbikes, hunting and fishing. He started the boys at a young age to do some mechanic work and keep tools picked up. Keeping the tools picked up was a hard task for the boys.
Bob married Cecilia White at the age of 20. Cecilia is the boys mother. They were divorced in 1984. Unreconcilable differences didn’t stop them from both raising the boys.
He spent many years with his best friend, Sharron. They spent several weekends at Jims Lake and going on camping trips.
