Robert Douglas Kittell

Robert Douglas Kittell, passed away September 12, 2026, in McCloud Hospital, Little River South Carolina. Born to Olin and Leona (Marcette) Kittell in East Fairfield, VT on April 20, 1942. His father passed in 1949 and mother passed in 1956 when Bob was 14 years old. Bob lived with his Aunt Jean and Uncle Robert Bryce until 1958. He then was placed with foster parents Bob and Reita Raymond and family, on their dairy farm where he lived until October 1960. Bob joined U.S. Army Paratroopers, serving in Ft. Dix, NJ, Ft. Bragg, NC and Germany. He lived in Indianapolis, Indiana 1963-1970; Vermont; 1970-1980; Indiana 1980-1982; Borger, Texas 1982-2014; and North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina 2014 until September 12th, 2026 at the time of his death. He worked as a delivery driver, truck driver, oilfield chemical sales, and back to haz-mat tanker driver, retiring at age 70. Bob is preceded in death by a sister Betty Sheldon, brother Joseph Kittell, and foster parents Bob and Reita Raymond. To quote Bob he is survived by his wife, Linda (Petty) Kittell of 45 years, who was sent by God after a serious prayer and, (not to quote a title of a movie), now “It’s a Wonderful Life”.

Bob is survived by three sons. Kevin Robert Kittell(Joettea) of Amarillo, TX; Brian Scott Kittell (Wendy) of Delco, NC; Wade Evan Kittell (Jaime) South Prince George, VA; a special niece Cindy and Greg Holbrook, their daughter Tasha and granddaughter Kailyn and their son Tyler Holbrook (Azalea), and grandchildren Kassidy, Kinsley, and Emerson; his grandchildren Gavin Beck(Braley) and daughter Scarlett of Amarillo, TX. Kyra Chapman (Austin) and son Suren of Whiteville, NC. Sydney Kittell( Nino) and sons Damion and Dymitri of Galivants Ferry, SC. Melanie Kittell (DJ) and son Donald of Tabor City, NC. Ethan Kittell (Kennady) and son Maverick of Evergreen, NC. Daelyn Kittell (Marcus) of Fayetteville, NC. Peyton Kittell (Emma) of Colonial Heights, VA. Ireland Floyd and parents Toni and Teenie Floyd of Chadbourn, NC. Bob is survived by his sister Yvette of St. Albans, VT and brother Richard Kittell of Morrisville, VT; his foster sisters Sandy Pipin of Albans Fairfax, VT; Cheryl and Jim Williams of Johnson, VT; Debbie and David Williamson of Jeffersonville, VT; and Lori Berry of Johnson, VT; foster brother Bobby Charles Raymond of Morrisville, VT; numerous beloved nieces and nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws; and a very large extended family.
