Robert Ryan Hare

Robert Ryan Hare, 39 of Amarillo, Texas has passed away.

Ryan was born to Allen and Carrie Ferguson Hare in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 18, 1982. He was baptized in First United Methodist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He grew up in the small Texas town of Sunray where he was a member of Sunray United Methodist Church. He loved church camp at Ceta Canyon and never missed. He attended school in Sunray and graduated from High School in 2001. After high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp but changed his entry date so he could attend church camp at Ceta Canyon that one last time before Marine bootcamp.

Ryan loved to read from an early age, hunt quail, listen to music, do yard work, and as a teenager he was a pretty good piano player. He developed a love for aviation and aviation history after having to attend many air shows over the years with his parents. He loved his old (passed down 3 times) Ford Pickup and help put over 250,000 miles on it before it almost fell apart. He didn’t want to sell it but he did. It’s probably still running today.

He was a very giving person and always focused on the good in people he knew and cared for. He loved to take care of his pets. He showed goats and pigs in the 4-H Program in Moore County. The simple things in life are what he embraced.

Survivors include his parents Allen and Carrie Hare of Amarillo, brother Brady Hare of San Marcos, grandfather Robert Ferguson of Dumas, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Margaret and Arthur M. Hare and grandmother Wanda Ferguson.

Memorial services for Ryan will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 1, 2023, in the Polk Street Methodist Church Chapel, Amarillo, Texas, Pastor Lesly Broadbent, officiating.
