Robin June Williams Cummings
Born December 8, 1935
Died May 10, 2026 (Mother's Day)
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2026, at Polk Street Methodist Church Chapel. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Robin was born in Pampa Texas to Clarence and Jesslyn Williams, and lived 83 of her 90 years in the Texas Panhandle, specifically, White Deer, Panhandle, and Amarillo.
After graduating from high school in 1954, she attended West Texas State University (WTA&M) and received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education.
She married her childhood sweetheart, Gary Don Cummings in 1956 and they had one child, Gary Mark Cummings in 1961. Taking care of him took more energy than raising five children so they decided not to have another one. ©
Robin spent her entire professional career of 33 years teaching for the Amarillo Independent School District and was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society for women educators.
She was also an active member of Trinity, St. Stephen, and Polk Street Methodist Churches. In retirement, Robin volunteered as a child advocate for the CASA (court appointed special advocates) program to help children in need of a stable and loving home. She also worked at the Tyler Street Pantry to help families in need of basic food and clothing.
Robin is survived by son Gary Mark Cummings, daughter-in-law Kuldeep “Kip” Cummings, both of Austin TX, and three sisters, Kay Carol Williams Martin, Brenda Lynn Williams Hofmann, and Sheila
Jane Williams Bulla, all of Amarillo, and sister-in-law Judy Williams of Hereford.
To best honor her memory, the family gratefully requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to The Methodist Children’s Home in Waco, or the Wesley Community Center here in Amarillo, or The Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch.
